Women's group courses

Personal change can be challenging and for real change to happen, it's important to understand the process.

We run The Self Concept as a course designed specifically for women that provides a clear and accessible model of personal transformation.

The course, runs for 6 weeks with sessions of 2 hours per week.

We provide a structure within which women can identify those beliefs or behaviours that limit their power, their choices and their happiness. Each course is limited to 6 - 8 women, providing an intimate space to expand and deepen your understanding around change.

We explore the influences that have shaped who your are and your unique values and beliefs.

We identify the impact these may be having in decision making and behaviour in your life today.

We discuss how you might use that information to make lasting change for the future.

Course details

Week 1

Introduction

Understanding how our self concept is constructed in childhood - why we are who we are.  We work on the idea that you cannot change what you do not truly understand.

Week 2

Conflict

We explore more individually how parts of who we believe we are can be in conflict with a deeper truth about ourselves, and we discuss how this conflict can manifest in our lives.

Week 3

Awareness

We identify what parts of our self concept are limiting.  Are we thinking and feeling and acting as we “should” or following our own genuine path. We learn skills to help identify our unique personal needs and wants.

Week 4

Defence

We expand further on the idea of our genuine needs and how they might be in conflict with other limiting “truths” - often expectations from family/relationships/society. We discuss how to identify and navigate these barriers, to provide the best opportunity for change.

Week 5

Integrate

We reflect on the specific positive changes you can expect with this kind of deep level work and the incredible physical, emotional and psychological impact on your life. The reason we do it!

Week 6

Reflection and support

We review the full cycle of change with opportunity for discussion and questions. We also discuss the importance of support for the ongoing development of this work, and provide ideas for what that might look like, for those interested.

How we make change

We are often reluctant to make change because the process can be scary.  The fear often comes from not really understanding what to do to make change. The Course provide a safe, non-judgemental space for the expression and reflection on the ways you might want to change. We offer practical and achievable ways to help you become clearer in who you and are and what you want.

This is a course designed and developed by a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 12 years experience working with people to facilitate change.

It offers an understanding of how you develop the unique beliefs, behaviours and characteristics of who you are - your Self Concept. Understanding this is fundamental in making change.  You cannot change what you do not know.

The reasons for developing this course are driven by a deeply personal need to be part of the solution when it comes to women’s equality and power.

My idea was to always to develop a course that places women at the centre, with the core purpose to provide a structure to help women identify beliefs or behaviours that limit their power and their happiness.

Contributing to and supporting the development of women in their individual and collective power is the goal.

"Kellie has an innate talent for connecting with people.

While academic training can enhance this gift, what truly elevates an individual in this field is a blend of experience, intuition, insight and the capacity to hone in on issues truthfully, but at the same time in a non-confrontational manner.

Kellie naturally embodies these qualities. Her genuine compassion and authentic approach demonstrate a profound level of expertise in understanding individuals and assisting them in overcoming challenges.

It is a privilege to know and collaborate with Kellie."
