My story
I'm definitely an Australian at heart, but I've spent much of my adult life in the UK.
My daughter would call me a Neek (nerd and geek for anyone that doesn’t speak teenage girl) but I like to think that it is just an insatiable curiosity about all things.
I find people and their stories genuinely fascinating.
I love good food, but not fussy food.
Kitchen dancing and laughing until you can’t breathe are indicators of a good night for me. A great day is a day spent in the surf.
I am fiercely passionate about women's rights and supporting other women.
I live in Brighton (Hove, actually) with my husband and constant support, Rob, and my daughter Avy, who teaches me every day who I truly am.
My approach
My professional journey is anchored in my undergraduate background in Psychology in Australia and subsequent Post-Graduate qualification in Psychotherapy at Brighton University. I also worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Brighton University, where I facilitated transformative experiences within group dynamics.
I bring a wealth of practical experience, with 14 years devoted to therapeutic practice, collaborating closely with individuals in private settings. My career transition from the corporate sector has given me valuable insights into organizational culture.
I draw upon a diverse array of disciplines, including Psychotherapeutic Theories, Neuroscience, Coaching frameworks, Somatic work, Group Dynamics, Experiential learning and an interest in Psychological Differentiation.
I place significant weight on the interpersonal dynamics of my work, recognizing that establishing strong relationships, nurturing trust, and creating non-judgmental spaces are as critical as theoretical foundations.
The development of the Self Concept is a result of over 14 years dedicated to facilitating change in both one-to-one and group therapeutic settings and is centred in a philosophy that embraces collaboration while consistently recognizing the unique individuality of every client.
I am an active member of both the Association of Coaches and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, utilizing their frameworks to guide my coaching and therapeutic approaches, ensuring a consistently high level of competence and effectiveness.
