The Self Concept
A new approach to personal and professional transformation
We help you make lasting and profound change by integrating established coaching methodologies with a deep exploration of your unique beliefs and behaviours.

The Self Concept philosophy is grounded in an individual's experiences, beliefs and behaviours as crucial components of the change process, providing a clear, accessible and successful model for personal and professional transformation.
We help people use the approach in one of three ways…
Making personal change (and why it can be difficult)
To achieve lasting and meaningful change, either personal or professional, we have to cultivate a deeper understanding around who we are – our 'Self Concept'. What are the beliefs unique to us? How did we develop those beliefs? And how do they shape our behaviours and decision making?

Once we have developed a deeper self-awareness, we can, where necessary, challenge these beliefs. Understanding this is fundamental to making sustainable change. You cannot transform what you’re unaware of.

The Self Concept provides a professional, safe and non-judgemental space for the expression and reflection on the ways you might want to change. We offer practical and achievable ways to help you become clearer in who you and are and what you want (and just as importantly don't want) in your life.
My background
The development of the Self Concept is a result of over 14 years dedicated to facilitating change in both one-to-one and group therapeutic settings, combined with 25 years prior experience in a commercial context. During this journey, I came to realize that many people find the process of change confusing and sometimes even confronting. Often, they achieve change at a cognitive level but struggle to translate it into meaningful behavioral shifts due to a lack of deeper psychological self-understanding.

Through the creation of the Self Concept, I aimed to construct a versatile program that could be universally applied to both professional and personal transformations. This program is designed with a clear, well-defined, and transparent structure, making it easier for individuals to grasp the intricacies of the change, and providing insight and support to the challenges they might encounter along the way.

I've designed the program to be equally effective in one-on-one and group settings. It's a change philosophy that integrates insights from various disciplines, including Psychotherapeutic Theories, Neuroscience, Coaching frameworks, Somatic work, Group Dynamics, Experiential learning and Attachment Theory.

However, it places a significant focus on individualism, recognizing that each person's unique beliefs and behaviours are fundamental aspects of personal transformation.
